Winston Churchill

I know that this is not really 420 related (kinda).
I was reading in the New York Times today (Saturday, 9 June 2012)

That while on a lecture tour on Jan 26, 1932, Winston Churchill was hit by a car at Fifth Ave. and 76th Street and needed medical assistance. "This is to certify," the doctor writes this in the midst of Prohibition- "that the post accident convalescence of the Hon. Winston S. Churchill necessitates the use of alcoholic spirits especially at meal times. The quantity is naturally indefinite but the minimum requirements would be 250 cubit centimeters."

I read this and thought of the current prohibition of Medical Marijuana, and saw a correlation when a doctor is writing a prescription for a statesman to drink alcohol with his meals at a time when alcohol is illegal, to relieve his pain. I don’t know of the medical benefits of alcohol, but I have experienced the medical benefits of marijuana.
I am not here to rant against alcohol, but just to say we all must keep up the good fight to educate others to help legalize the medicine that benefits me and others.

Thanks, Hoser
